Join us for afternoon tea
Afternoon tea is a great British tradition with origins in the early 19th century. It came about to stave off hunger at at time when dinner wasn’t served until late in the evening. The quintessential afternoon tea begins with savoury finger sandwiches of smoked salmon, cucumber or egg followed by scones with jam and clotted cream and finally a selection of cakes all served on a tiered cake stand. The tea is of course served in a teapot with delicate china cups.
If you prefer to relax and let someone else do the work then join us at the pub for afternoon tea between 3-5pm daily. We use our own home smoked salmon in the sandwiches and the jam accompanying the scones is lovingly made in our kitchen.
