Dog and Gun Inn, Malsis - a local pub that cares...

We are very proud of our community ties - someone once said to be a real pub you need to have either a dart board or a dominoes team, well we have 2 dominoes teams and a competitive bunch they are too having won the Aire Valley District League!

We live at the pub, our children go to school here and we employ people from the village so we take an active role in the local community. We have become a regular meeting place for the local choir plus various societies and teams; the badminton, rugby and cricket clubs all plan their strategies here! We also have close links with the local rugby league team - the Keighley Pumas - in fact we've just agreed to sponsor the team!

We've also become a popular venue for local celebrations including birthday's, anniversaries and even weddings... we've even looked after a number of funeral receptions. The feedback has always been superb and guests feel that they are looked after by people who know them and care.

We also support charities a little further afield - we are avid supporters of the RNLI and donate 10p from the sale of every serving of fish and chips. We looked after 20 US lady motorcyclists during their Changing Gears UK Tour. These ladies have all battled breast cancer and we helped them on their way to the £30,000 raised to support the Lavender Trust. As well as putting on a lunch for the Royal Marines, we supported their chosen charity by doing a rather risqué calendar!
