October 2009 update…

Hello there, well I’m at that stage in life that I remember my Mum going through - you know the one when you have to sit nearer and nearer the window in order to see the paper and small print.

So I finally relented and went for the dreaded eye test. In fact Kevin and I both went as moral support for each other as although it may be an everyday event for you, it leaves me with cold shivers and happily able to pass out.

I didn’t though, and the optician was great after I’d told him that I couldn’t possibly have that puff of air in my eye, anyway the long and short of it is - yes I’ve done very well up till now but it would be a good idea to have some reading glasses.!!!

Well I’ve ordered them after trying on dozens of pairs (Good god they’re only for reading said Kevin who by now was starving- as I’d promised him Lunch) So I should have them by the time you’re reading this and I’ll either look very stunning trying to do my Miss Moneypenny impression or I’ll fall flat on my face if I try and walk in them as well - so please pick me up and no laughing which incidentally is something my Brother hasn’t stopped doing since I told him I’m catching him up.

New Menu - yes this is it if I stop rabbiting on, you’ll probably see that on the specials board too soon - Rabbit that is and we have Pheasant back on the Menu and Venison Sausages, a curried Chicken Dish that’s lovely, some new fish dishes. Anyway read on and take a look and let us know what you think of some of the new twists we’ve given to some of our old favourites.

Christmas Hampers - we’ll be doing some of those and homemade Christmas Puddings under our alter ego - Yorkshire Pub Foods so why not treat yourselves or your family and friends to something from our Homemade and Home smoked Range. There’s new Yorkshire Chutney with Landlord Ale and the Lemon Curd is to die for plus we intend to be selling our Mushroom Pepper-pot and Sticky Toffee Sauce soon too - so keep an eye out for them.

The Tack Room is going great, Christmas Day I’ m afraid is now fully booked, Halloween is going to see a return of some of our old staff who are coming back especially, so why don’t you get the kids to dress up too (we will be) and bring them along we’re all sure to have a scary time when all the specials are given ghoulish names!

As ever we look forward to seeing you soon.

Regards Ross & Anita
