May 2009 update…

Hello there, since I last spoke to you there really have been some highs and lows, sad times and good times with lots in between. My Dad who many of you knew has now gone to join my Mum and though I know they’ll be happy together once more - I really miss him and find myself constantly looking for signs that they’re watching and that they’re ok. I find them too even though Ross thinks I’m losing my marbles but when I was struggling I asked Dad to help and two Deer ran across the road in front of me - happy as Larry and I saw two Robins in my friends garden, and to me they were Mum & Dad enjoying themselves and saying we’re ok. But at times you may see me red eyed and happy or sad for the times that we had and are now just poignant memories. So if you hear Glen Miller In the Mood or Morecambe and Wise Bring me Sunshine  - you know who I’ll be thinking of!

The Tack Room is complete and so is the Roof terrace and we think they look fab so we hope you enjoy them whether you’re dining with friends, having tea with your family or hiring it for that special occasion. People seem to find it hard to believe that last year it was the Patio as it looks like it’s always been there and that for us means a job well done. The builders under the guidance of the lovely Foreman Andy from Woollers have DONE A TREMENDOUS JOB even though I know I drove him scratty at times with this, that and the other but it all came good and we love it! Thank you!

Our new summery menu has some lovely new dishes on it and though I’m not a fishy person there are things that even I like as well as lovely Salads, Tapas, Risotto and Brie & Cranberry Chicken. The kid’s menu has a new look too so we hope you’ll find something new to enjoy as well as our old favourites. We’ve gone all fruity and fresh with our wines too so take a look and enjoy in particular the Pinot Grigio Rose or a Jug of Pimms on the Patio!

Have you taken a look in the Fridge (in the foyer) well Yorkshire Pub Foods is us too and we make it all on the premises so if you’ve not tried anything - give it a whirl (we use it all on the menu anyway so chances are you have tried it) but why not treat yourselves or your family and friends to something from our Homemade and Home smoked Range.

The vicar said it’s not when you arrive in the world or when you leave but how you spend your dash in between  - look it up (it’s a poem), we’re trying to make the most of ours, look forward to seeing you soon.

Regards Ross & Anita
