Hi, well it’s six months since my last note here – doesn’t time fly when you’re enjoying yourself. Half term at the moment and time to introduce our new dishes for the winter, to think about lighting the fires, toasting our toes and Christmas – though I’m not going to count the shopping days left the children are already telling us what they would like. I think it’s a sign of getting older that Christmas seems to get earlier though I still love it and this will be our third festive season spent here. Mental note – Maybe I should give Ross a list of what I want so he can think about it before Christmas Eve – bet you know what I mean don’t you?
The garden is now ready for wintering so we’ll soon have heathers etc planted and a general tidy up. The umbrellas have been washed and stored and the leaf blower has been dug out of the corner ready for action – hopefully that’ll be Ross’ job and we’re adding some extra lights at the bottom of the car park to make it easier to see down there.
In August Andy (of the purple shirt variety) got married to Dawn and held their celebrations here, which were lovely – Kilts, Bagpipes, Confetti – the works. It was a lovely day and they’re still married despite him losing his wedding ring in the sea six days after the event.
We’re still listening to what you suggest as in addition to our winter dishes we’ve added a Vegetarian and Fish Section, added more again to the Kid’s menu and we have more high chairs on order. So please keep talking to us, cos unlike many we can and will do something about it.
Ross’ back is now much better so hopefully you’ll see a bit more of him – so thank- you to all those of you that enquired (by the way it’s his penultimate birthday on the 1st November – oh and I said I wouldn’t tell!)
As ever we hope that while you’re here you’ll enjoy sharing our home and feel that the Dog & Gun is a nice place to be in whether you’re alone or with others.
Enjoy your visit and do come again – you’ll be most welcome
