November 2008 update…

Hello there,  21 years on and Ross & I revisited Tenerife – for those of you in the know this was where we were introduced to La Bombas at the top of Mount Teide – Couldn’t get him to brave the cable car this time though  – must be losing my touch, c’est la vie! We had a great time but couldn’t recognise any of it from before though we weren’t accosted by a tiger in the street for a photo opportunity, no this time it was Parrots for Rikki and his girlfriend Lynsey, and the photos were great despite much ribbing from Aaron and his girlfriend Emily that they’d been done and they wouldn’t show up!
Our Winter Warmers are something new on the Menu along with a few other surprises tucked in and whilst prices of everything do keep rising, we still feel that we offer the best value in Yorkshire – we hope you agree and keep coming to see us!

Afternoon Cream Teas with homemade scones, cream and homemade strawberry jam are still available every Monday to Friday between 3pm and 5pm. It’s not a secret – so tell your friends and if you’ve not tried it, you don’t know what you’re missing!

Have you started Christmas shopping yet – well hopefully we can help you with that, you can treat yourselves or your family and friends to something from our Homemade and Home smoked Range. We currently have available Smoked Salmon, Smoked Cheese, Smoked Chicken, Strawberry Jam, Lemon Curd, Mango Chutney and a new one in Ploughman’s Pickle with Landlord Ale – lovely!

Went to York recently and had a great time and even managed to walk the wall and did a river cruise, which we really enjoyed – you should try it as you see and appreciate everything from a completely different angle. We also watched the Remembrance Day Parade there, which was very moving, especially when all the old soldiers paraded. I happened to catch some of it on the news too and when Abide with Me was played it really brought a tear to my eye as me Grandpa taught me to play that on the piano though I’m not sure I could still do it.

Boys haven’t sorted their night out yet but they are going to see the new James Bond movie, so I expect they’ll all return with gadgets but I’ll let you know!
